MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 6TH

Holiday Party Discussion- Final plans for party discused. Recreation will be ordering 4 trays of Chicken from Walmart. Recretion will also purchase salad and dressing and snacks paper goods ext.... HCC will be providing drinks and arts and craft project. Montague PTA will supply desert. Montague Fire Dept will be providing Baked Ham and Mac and cheese. Glen Goodyear will play Santa and he will ask if Montague Rec can borrow Mrs. Claus Suit. Meg Snyder agreed to Play Mrs. Claus.

Discussion about purchase of a shed for rec equipment. Will get price for 12x12 with no window with and without skylight.

Discussion of budget will hold meeting next week to finalize.

MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 1ST, 2010

COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT-MEG SNYDER, JANET WOUDENBURG, DEVON LYON, MARY KOPETSKY

MONTAGUE DAY 2010 PICTURE ALBUM IS ON DISPLAY IN THE LOBBY AT TOWN HALL.

206 FIELD PLANS- TABLED

6TH, 7TH AND 8TH GRAD SOCIAL- DISCUSSION ON HAVING ONE EARLY NEXT YEAR.

HOLIDAY PARTY- WILL HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING NEXT MONDAY NOVEMBER 8TH, RECREATION WILL BE INVITING MEMBERS FROM THE PTA, FIRE DEPT, HCC, BLUE RIDGE, WORKING ON DATE AND BUILDING USE. MORE AT NEXT MEETING.

KITTITIANY SQUARE DANCE CLUB DISCUSSION ON HAVING A BARN DANCE NEXT SPRING.

SOCK HOP- DISCUSSION ON HAVING AN ADULT SOCK HOP IN THE FUTURE.

ADULT VOLLEY BALL- DEVON LYON WILL ASK FOR BUILDING USE AND WILL HAVE MORE INFORMATION AT THE NEXT MEETING.

SPRING SOCCER- RICK BRAUM WILL BE ATTENDING A FUTURE MEETING TO DISCUSS THE SOCCER PROGRAM.

DISCUSSION REGARDING PURCHASE OF A GRILL, COFFEE URNS, BINS/TOTES AND A SHED.

BUDGET FOR HOLIDAY PARTY $2000.00 $5.00 PER CHILD PLUS FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT, SUPPLIES ECT.....

TERM LIMITS- COMMISSION TERM LIMITS WERE DISCUSSED.

ANNUAL HOUSE DECORATIONG JUDGING FOR HOLIDAY BLOOMHAGEN AWARD. RECREATION MEMBERS WILL JUDGE THE HOUSES FLIER WILL BE MADE UP AND DISTRIBUTED.

TRI-STATE HOLIDAY PARADE- RECREATION WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING THIS YEAR AS PAPER WORK REGARDING EVENT WAS DELAYED IN REACHING RECREATION AND WE WERE ONLY NOTIFIED AT THIS MEETING ABOUT THIS EVENT.

Montague Recreation Meeting Minutes 9/27/10

Present Committee Members Meg Snyder, Janet Woudenberg, Devon Lyon, Mary Kopetsky

Soccer update from Devon- He will be ordering tee-shirts for the children and getting costs for storage box for soccer nets and first aid kit.

Stamp and Rascle Bike Ride will be October 16th Montague Recreation will be working at rest stop at High Point State Park will pick up and deliver food from deli and hand out food for a $200.00 donation for Montague Recreation.

Montague Day and Classic Car show events

We have received an additional $200 donation from Al Johns to put toward the bounce houses and tents for Montague Day thanks to the kindness of George Zitone who painted over grafitti on Rt. 206.

Shop Rite card use for expenses for both events commission approved up to $600.00 for purchase of soda coffee desert donoughts coffee ect....

We have over 2 dozen vendors and civic groups so far and list is growning will be working on set up of placement at next rec meeting.

Janet and Meg have been working on give aways for the day from local business have had a very nice response and have some very nice items to give away. Not listing here what they are to be a surprise. The commission knows.

Have vouchers for Charlie Teufert to sign for entertainment and events at Montague Day.

Discussion on games and who is going to be doing what

Howard Smith will be donating coffee for Classic Car Show.

MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 16TH

MEMBERS PRESENT- DAVE GIBSON, MARY KOPETSKY, MEG SNYDER

Our thanks for those who came to participate and help Lou and Delores Avenetti and Miss Montage Danielle Dieckman.

Montague Day Opening Ceremony Discussed- U.S. Marines and a donated flag from Brian Van Wagner for the day that has flown over a war base in Afganistan.

Win Michael's band cost $100.00 (vote all in favor)
Howard Smith DJ for the Day $150.00 (vote all in favor)
84 West Band $200.00 (vote all in favor)
Symphonics Band $500.00 (Private Donation) (vote all in favor)

Zac Magic- (vote all in favor) waiting for proposal for cost apx $200.00

Lucky the Hobo- (donation from the Montague Grange) no cost to recreation.

Photographer- discussed

Porta-potties 2 will be ordered for Montague Day and the Classic Car show. (price at next meeting)

Pizza- The Montague Seniors will sell Pizza donation of sales to Montague Fire Dept.

Montague Day Tee-Shirts- The Montague Seniors have offered to volunteer selling of the tee shirts at Montague Day for Recreation cost will be 2 for $15.00

Parking was discussed- need volunteers to monitor parking

Volunteers were discussed- We need some more hands so anyone willing to help please let us know. Thank you.

Games- Tabled

Fall Soccer-Tabled waiting for information for sign ups.

Application for Temporary Food Vendors has been supplied from the Board of Health

Danielle Dieckman- Will be at Montague Day and will host 2 special tea parties with some young ladies who would like to join her. Sign ups will take place on Montague Day as space is limited.

Thank you letter was sent to Chris Jones, Public and Community Relations Manager, El Paso Corporation, Houston TX for their generous donation of $1000.00 to sponsor the Classic Car show on October 10th.

September 1st- Preschool Reading arts and crafts has been approved 1pm -1:45 pm the story will be "Froggy Goes to School" and there will be a painting arts and crafts frog project cost is free to Montague Pre-Schoolers.

MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 2ND

Members Present Meg Snyder, Mary Kopetsky, Dave Gibson, Devon Lyons.

Fall Soccer Discussion on when sign ups will be- More at next meeting

Basketball nets- When trying to put up the nets they only fit one of the rims the other two not being the same rim. One rim is missing clips for nets. All rims will be looked at to see which ones need to be replaced/repaired and correct nets and damaged rims will be ordered. In the mean time anyone wishing to play can use the hoops at the municipal building as they are.

Bike Ride-a-thon October 16th- Recreation has been asked to pick up food at DB's Deli and help set up and man a station at High Point State Park for Stamp and Rascle Bike ride for a $200.00 donation to recreation. Dave Gibson and Meg Snyder will help.

Montague Day Update- Opening Ceremony, Entertainment, Food, Donations, Vendors (which we are getting a good response from) were discussed. Vendor Space is $20.00 for the day. Some vendors will be returning on October 10th for the Classic Car Show that day is at no charge to vendors a donation to Montague Recreation would be appreciated.

Prior Montague Day tee shirts have been returned to Charlie Teufet and will be put in the rec closet so we can see how many we have and decide what to do with them.

Pre-School- Reading and arts and crafts will resume on September 1st for pre-schoolers we will be doing the story "Froggy Goes to School" (Paper plate painting frog craft) This is free and is held at the Montague Municipal Building on September 1st at 1pm. For more information please call Meg at 973-293-8033. (This is a great story a lot of fun for children who are going to either pre-school or kindergarten for the first time.

Classic Car Show- October 10th discussion on how we can help with event.

Next Meeting will be in two weeks--August 16th, 2010 at 7pm at the municipal building.

MEETING MINUTES JULY 12TH, 2010

Members present, Mary Kopetsky, Devon Lyon, Meg Snyder

Nets and compressor have been received- Devon Lyon to put up nets at Municipal Building.

Approval of 3 Bands for Montague Day - all in favor

Howard Smith- DJ for Montague Day discussion

Sharon Orce- Montague Grange- Montague Grange will sponsor event at Montague Day.

Adult Softball- will now be weekly at Route 206 Field at 1pm till August 22nd

Children age 4-7 Summer Fun Days. Equipment has just been received for this and Montague Day events. See flier in blogs for more information. We have had several parents ask us if we could provide something for this age group.

Basketball Clinic- was discussed and details will be worked out (Barbara Holstein)

Games for Montague Day were discussed.

Food for Montague Day- Looking for food vendors as well as other vendors to attend

Security for Montague Day discussed- (Mary Kopetsky)

Donation of Movie Screen and sound equipment from HCC for evening entertainment at Montague Day.

Sign out equipment sheet will be posted in recreation closet (recreation members only)

Devon Lyon will see what is other closet that Charlie Teufert told recreation about.

Charlie Teufert to provide vendor and volunteer list from last years Montague Day to recreation.

Recreation accounts were discussed.

Retention of paperwork and handing over of paperwork to next commission was discussed as the present commission has had nothing but issues with getting past information. This will not occur in the future.
